CHICAGO – Yesterday, Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Jaime Harrison, DNC Secretary Jason Rae, and Democratic National Convention Chair Minyon Moore officially certified Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz as the Democratic Party’s nominees for President and Vice President. Chair Moore celebrated this milestone in Chicago alongside convention staff.

“Today our Party has officially certified Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz as our nominees for President and Vice President of the United States,” said Convention Chair Minyon Moore. “Throughout this process, thousands of delegates made their voices and the voices of their communities heard, and their diligence and dedication has ensured that every voter has the opportunity to vote for our Democratic nominees this November. Now the eyes of the world turn to Chicago, where our delegates will celebrate this historic ticket with a ceremonial roll call and tell the story of Vice President Harris, Governor Walz, and the Democratic Party as we prepare to defeat Donald Trump once again.”

About the 2024 Democratic National Convention

The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) is the official arm of the Democratic National Committee responsible for planning the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago from August 19-22, 2024. The Democratic National Convention is the formal event where Democrats from all 50 states and the U.S. territories will gather in Chicago to rally behind Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz, our Democratic nominees for President and Vice President of the United States. Democrats will celebrate our achievements under the Biden-Harris Administration and chart a path for the future. Primetime programming will be held at the United Center and other party activities will be conducted at the McCormick Place Convention Center, both planned in close coordination with the Chicago Host Committee, City of Chicago, State of Illinois, and the Democratic National Committee.

The DNCC aims to build a platform for Democrats to tell our story to the American people about a proven track record of historic accomplishments and the stakes of the election. The 2024 convention will pull in more Americans than ever before, bringing back the beloved traditions of past conventions and building on the innovative elements from the virtual convention.
