The Chicago Bears also celebrated their 100th season.   The Bears started celebrating on Tuesday as they unveiled statues of Bears’ legends Walter Payton and George Halas.  The two Hall of Famers were honored with 12-foot, 3,000 pound bronze statutes.   Bears’ fans enjoyed every minute of the festivities on Tuesday and Thursday.  It was a Super Bowl like atmosphere.  Bears’ fans had high hopes that the Bears would defeat the Packers in the season opener.  However, the Bears were defeated 10-3 by the Packers.  Even though the Bears are 0-1 to kickoff the season, the statue unveiling and day-long NFL experience softened the blow for Bears’ fans.  Many remained hopeful that the Bears will do well this season.
