The Taste of Chicago opened with Donnie Trumpet & the Social Experiment. They performed songs from their studio album “Surf”. They performed Slip Slide, Wanna Be Cool, Go, and Sundy Candy. Chance the Rapper joined them on stage and the crowd went wild. Chance performed No Problem and Blessings from his album Coloring Book.
Next, the Roots closed opening night with a spectacular performance. They performed a few or their hits, The Fire, You Got Me, and The Seed.
Sons of Silent Age opened for headliner Billy Idol. Billy performed many of his great hits. With hundreds of fans watching, he rocked the stage effortlessly giving them what they were waiting for. He sang his hits Shock to the System, Dancing with Myself, Flesh for Fantasy, Eyes Without a Face, Scream, Rebel Yell, and White Wedding. Other performers at the Patrillo Music Shell included KONGOS, Elle King and Transviolet, Shakey Graves, The Decembrists, Sheila E, and The Isley Brothers.
The Celebrity Chef du Jour Chefs included Chef Graham Elliot-MasterChef Junior Season 4, Chef Kevin Hickey-The Duck Inn, Chef Patrick Sheerin-Trenchermen, Chef Chris Macchia-Nonnina, and Chef Abraham Conlon-Fat Rice. Each Chef prepared a three-course meal for their guests.
