As the crowds grew in number to hear their favorite high school and college bands play and attend the HBCU fair, the football players of Howard University and Morgan State University prepared to play for the Chicago Football Classic. More and more fans continued to fill Soldier Field to watch the game. At kick-off, Morgan State was first to take control of the football. Morgan State’s Quarterback, Moses Skillon connected with Orlando Johnson for a 3 yard run to complete the first touchdown of the game. Morgan State continued to dominate the game by scoring two more touchdowns in the second quarter. As Howard tried to stay in the game, Craig Johnson scored Howard’s first touchdown from a 27 yard fumble return later in the second quarter followed by a field goal in the third quarter. However, Morgan State’s defense continued to dominate preventing Howard from scoring again. The final score was Morgan State 21- Howard University 13.
